Students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) have officially returned to classes following the Easter break, but not without lingering tension on campus.
Lectures continue amid the ongoing dispute between the MOUAU Students’ Union Government (SUG) and tricycle (keke) operators, which previously disrupted transportation activities within the school.
Sources around campus reveal that although academic activities have gradually picked up, movement within the university is still affected as students struggle with transportation challenges.
The disagreement, reportedly centered around fare regulation and operational control, led to a temporary halt in keke services, leaving many students stranded before the break.
As lectures continue, students are calling for urgent intervention from school authorities to resolve the crisis and restore normal transport operations.
Meanwhile, stakeholders are hopeful that dialogue between the SUG and keke operators will bring a lasting solution and prevent further disruption to academic activities.
