The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), has officially announced the revival of its campus radio station, Agri-Voice FM 106.9, following the successful clearance of a ₦27 million debt associated with its initial radio contract.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, disclosed this during a press conference held at the Vice-Chancellor's Conference Room to commemorate her first 100 days in office.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the radio station, which had remained inactive for over four years, has now resumed operations and is currently on test transmission. She described the development as a major milestone for the institution, highlighting the numerous benefits the station will offer to both the university community and the agricultural sector.
Prof. Akanwa noted that Agri-Voice FM will serve as a practical training platform for students interested in communication, broadcasting, and innovation, thereby enhancing skill development and experiential learning.
She further explained that the station is expected to contribute significantly to the University's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), promoting financial sustainability.
In addition, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the radio station will play a crucial role in agricultural extension services by disseminating information on improved crop varieties, including Habanero (Rodo) pepper, Sweet Bell Pepper, and Shombo F1 pepper.
The Professor of Educational Measurement and Evaluation also emphasized that the station will educate farmers on climate-smart agricultural practices, such as the adoption of climate-resilient crops and the rearing of disease-resistant livestock.
It is worth noting that the revived station, formerly known as Green 106.9 FM, now operates under the name Agri-Voice FM 106.9.
