The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on Thursday, April 16.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
Candidates can now check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the phone number they registered with. JAMB noted that only result viewing is currently available, while printing of result slips will be enabled later.
The Board explained that the examination process is still ongoing and assured that more results will be released in batches as marking continues.
JAMB also issued a strong warning against result manipulation, cautioning candidates not to alter SMS messages to misrepresent their scores. It described such actions as criminal and revealed that two candidates and one parent have already been arrested for falsifying results using digital methods.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, JAMB stressed that offenders will face legal consequences and urged all candidates to follow official procedures and maintain honesty throughout the admission process.
