The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), is poised for a historic transition as it prepares for the formal inauguration of Professor Ursula Ngozi Akanwa as its 7th Vice-Chancellor.
The event, scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, marks a watershed moment for the 34-year-old federal institution, as Professor Akanwa becomes the first woman to lead the university since its establishment.

She succeeds the outgoing 6th Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, whose tenure concludes at the end of February 2026.
