Beware of fake Postinor-2 product - NAFDAC


The National agency for food drug administration and control (NAFDAC) notified the public over a fake Postinor-2 product a contraceptive pill containing levnongestrel.

According to a press release by NAFDAC on Tuesday, the agency has said that their are two counterfeit type of products in circulation, warning that such product is a threat to human life and has unpredictable side effects.

NAFDAC noted the differences between the fake and original. On the fake product, the pin verification sticker has a smaller font size and misspells like, "Verify" as "Veify".

While the original product uses an original sticker, a larger and clearer font.



The agency also added that on the fake pack, the word "Distributed in Nigeria" Is wrongly spelt as "Distriibuted in Nigeria".

NAFDAC has advised  that patients are to obtain postnoir 2 product only from a registered and verified pharmacy.
