The management of the Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) has approved an end-of-year break for both staff and students, effective from Thursday, December 25, 2025, to Thursday, January 1, 2026.

On December 23, 2025, the Registrar's Office sent an internal memo to the entire university community containing this information. According to the memo, the Vice-Chancellor has directed that some categories of staff are exempted from the break. These include staff involved in essential services such as University Health Services, Fire Services, Security Personnel, Porters, Works, COMSIT, and Corporate Affairs. Days off will be granted to these employees at a later time, as necessary. The management urged all affected staff to take note of the directives for strict compliance.
In addition, the management announced that academic activities will resume after the new year break, January 2, 2026.
Dr. Chinwe A. Ifenkwe provided his signature to the memo, which was distributed to chief executive officers, deans, directors, and department and unit heads.
